Here to help...........
A pet owner of 30 years, from gerbils, to English Springers to Border collies. My current family consists of 2 rescued
Border Collies, Reuben and Storm, not forgetting my dearly beloved, friend and
companion Border Collie Kelly (14yrs), who passed away in 2008. And now Fern a lovely Merle collie, a dear little thing who
is still trying to work out that life is not as scary as she thinks!
The challenges of bringing into
your own home a new friend, rescue dog or puppy are worthy of note, but are far far outweighed by the rewards. Who will
care for them in your absence is a priority, who can help you when you need it most, they must be genuine animal lovers, reliable, trustworthy and a good listener.
I
grew up with animals; hamsters, guinea pigs, families of gerbils, cats and an ongoing stream of
adorable puppies from the Guides Dogs for the Blind Association. My first dog at 16 was a gorgeous English Springer Spaniel
called Chip, there was no going back......, I am a keen walker and frequent visitor to Henley, Marlow,
Derbyshire and the Lake District, (all dogs included!).
I worked in the Leisure
Industry for many years and had walked the dogs of friends and regular clients
dogs for 8 years on a part time basis, later on setting up SpeediePAWS, in 2009. I love the outdoors, animals, dog walking
and helping people, SpeediePAWS gives me the opportunity to work with animals and
people and in doing so help support my neighbours in overcoming the challenges of everyday life
when it comes to providing the environment we want for our pets.
I am a qualified trainer with The Institute of Modern Dog trainers, this has greatly assisted
with my day to day to work and with my own dogs. However helping
people understand their dogs and teaching
owners how to be their own dog trainer, has really been
a journey which I have enjoyed and will continue to keep me challenged for years to come. I am
also an Agility Club, Qualified Agility Instructor. Am Pet dog and cat First Aid trained. I keep all my training up to date,
with ongoing training, reading and personal development. I support the APDT ( Assoc. of Pet Dog Trainers), code of practise.
Apart
from the lovely early morning walks in the spring, seeing a group of dogs interact and play together,
nothing pleases me more than helping you to help your beloved, four legged, cheeky friend .........
I look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards
Sioban
